What are the different packages available?

We have 2 main types of facial contouring packages:

  • Dermal Fillers – these are the ideal packages for those of you looking to create volume and structure to the face. These package can be used to target any area of the face and are often the most popular
  • Single suture Threadlift + Dermal Fillers – this is the best option for those of you wanting to lift any skin sagging as well as adding lost volume and structure. This is the ideal package for targeting the mid and lower face as well as the neck.

How much dermal filler will I need?

This is a very good question and depends highly on the look you want and your current volume and facial anatomy but as a guide for a subtle yet youthful look we recommend between 2-3ml dermal filler. For a more pronounced result depending on your age 4-6ml of dermal filler may be needed to create the much sought after complete facial contouring. For those wanting dramatic results or perhaps reconstruction of the full face and profile larger volume of dermal filler maybe needed.

Why should I go for the combined threadlift and dermal filler package?

This option is great for two main reasons, a lot of clients want to target sagging skin particularly in the jawline and jowls without adding too much volume and in other cases clients want to make the mid and lower face thinner yet defined. In these cases its best to combine a slimming/ pulling technique with PDO threads with dermal fillers to create a lifted yet contoured look.

Can I mix and match the areas I use the dermal fillers for?

Yes, you can choose to have the dermal fillers anywhere in the face that you wish for as long as its within the volume limits of the purchased package.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The longevity of dermal fillers depends on the area injected and the type of filler used. A rough estimate for lips is 3-6 months although it lasts longer up to 18 months in those who have had multiple treatments. In the face, dermal fillers often last between 9-12 months initially and upto 2 years after multiple treatments.

Is the treatment painful?

All dermal filler treatments are done after the application of local anaesthetic cream which remains in place for 10-20 minutes depending on your pain tolerance. This will result in a relatively painless procedure.

What are the side effects?

Dermal fillers / hyaluronic acid injections are a natural occurring substance and are therefore one of the safest injections with minor side effects such as swelling and bruising. However more serious complications such as blockage of veins/ artery can arise if the injector is poorly qualified. This is why it’s important to choose your aesthetics doctor with care.

What do I have to avoid before and after the treatment?

We often discourage consumption of alcohol 12 hours before and after your treatment. Smoking should be avoided 6 hours before and after your treatment. Both these factors affect the likelihood of you bruising. Other things to avoid are hot showers, saunas as well as exercise for 24 hours and avoid sunbathing or sunbeds for up to 7 days.

Does my skin become saggy after the filler/threadlift is absorbed?

No, over time as the dermal filler / suture threads are absorbed by the body, your skin will naturally lay down collagen through the healing process which will make your skin stronger and less prone to sagging and wrinkles.

Are there any Contra-indications?

Yes, the absolute contra-indications are pregnancy, breast feeding. Relative contra-indications are the use of blood thinning medications (please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation).
